Why Varun Agarwal Is The Right Mentor Pick For You?

Varun is still figuring out himself every day, but here’s what we know so far- Brands, storytelling, sneakers, and mountains- a few things he loves the most.

He always wanted to get into a creative role, but then there’d be no story had he got it so soon.
He started with an Operations role at Lintas to get into the advertising world. While planning brand launches and national experiential marketing campaigns, he was hungry to work in other functions to maximize his learning. After proving himself a great fit, he transitioned into an Account Management role at Lintas on some of its biggest clients, Castrol India, UltraTech, and BirlaWhite.

He joined Schbang on Baskin Robbins and Finolex Pipes, looking for a more creative job. Not only did he up BR’s digital presence and increase social media followers by 50% within 6 months, but he also became the client’s favourite. He was offered a role under Baskin’s Marketing Head. He got an early promotion and as his appreciation reached the Founder, he started working with Harshil Karia on side projects. Varun also started The Alt Museum (World’s first digital museum for the visually impaired) along with Schbang For Good. Harshil eventually moved him to a Creative Strategist role on Reliance Jio, Schbang’s biggest client, and did some great work there too. Apart from regular social media features on platforms like MOM, he executed two huge IPL campaigns and AGM, wrote scripts for stars like Ranveer-Deepika, all star players of IPL, and won Jio a Gold at Social Samosa’s SAMMIE 2021. His work on IPL digital was commended by the Jio APAC team too. It took him almost 3 years to get what he first wanted but it also meant a lot more learnings for him. He has now worked across the 3 types of agencies- Experiential Marketing & Activation, Mainline, and Digital- a rare feature for someone of his age.

Today, Varun is a student at MICA, Ahmedabad expanding his knowledge of Marketing and Communications. After a year of creating viral content and on-ground activations for TEDxMICA, he is now heading its BrandComm & Design team.
